About The Event
The Art of Tea Ceremony & ReSounding Wholeness
An Evening of Communal Presence, Mindfulness, Silence & Sound with Kristy & Karen Renée
Join Kristy and Karen Renée as we experience the sacred art and ritual of a tea ceremony, silence and intentional sound.
A Tea Ceremony is powerful form of meditation that is steeped in Zen Buddhist ritual and traditions, embodying the main Zen principle of impermanence, reminding us to appreciate each cup of tea (every moment of life). With this silent, mindful practice we invite you to embrace the possibilities that are contained deep within you, in the space of silence in between the sounds of everyday life. Experiencing this in community, we find how energetic and revitalizing it can feel to just BE in the presence of other human beings.
We will then engage in a Sacred Sound Circle where we can express the energies we received in the silence in a safe, nurturing, supportive space. All emanations are welcome. Deeply profound energies, ideas and wisdom arise in circle. Let the sounds and rhythm be transformational for your journey ahead.
Held in unconditional love, allow the wisdom to resound through your voice and body bringing wholeness and peace, and a deeper awareness to who you have always been. A trusted soul friend is here to remind you of your holiness. It is within you. It is you.
Walk away reconnected, refreshed, revitalized and ready to express your true soul’s path, stronger and gentler than ever. We invite and welcome you home.

About Kristy Robinson
Kristy participated in her first tea ceremony with Sarah Scarborough, aka the Tea Huntress, and was instantly hooked. It brought together many of her favorite things: ritual, meditation, tea, silence, and community. Kristy loves exploring ways to incorporate stillness and mindfulness into every day life.
She soon began studying with Sarah, immersing herself in the world of tea and ceremony. After studying Zen Buddhism and chaplaincy with Roshi Joan Halifax, she became an ordained Buddhist Chaplain. Tea ceremony is powerful form of meditation that is steeped in Zen Buddhist ritual and traditions so it instantly felt familiar to her, embodying the main Zen principle of impermanence, reminding us to appreciate each cup of tea.
Kristy studied philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin, then received a master's degree in gerontology. She spent several years in academia with UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas before moving to Nashville with her husband, Scott, so he could pursue a career in the music industry. Kristy served as a conservator in the Davidson County court system for 17 years. She is the mother of four adult children and yaya to two granddaughters.
She is a volunteer Chaplain for the metro police department, yoga teacher and the facilitator for the Leipers Fork Mindfulness Circle. Connect with Kristy on Instagram @tea_nashville.
