About The Event

WaterColor Play

Reclaim and energize your Creative Spirit through a unique watercolor technique designed to engage your childlike wonder.

Join in an evening of creative play with Karen Renée.  From the privacy of your own home you will be guided in a watercolor technique designed to encourage and support spontaneous flow, while enjoying the interplay of water and vibrant color.

Witness how the flow of water moves effortlessly across the page, leaving pleasant surprises and mystical imagery in its wake. Deeply meditative and enlivening.

You will complete the experience with a deeper awareness of your ability to “go with the flow;” reconnected to the creative force that resides within you; and encouraged to continue to explore the techniques in your own unique way.

You will need to purchase the supplies for this class.  After you register, the list of materials required will be sent to you along with the Zoom Link and Passcode.

This class will NOT be recorded for future playback.  I like to create safe, nurturing spaces where people can vulnerably share the experience together.

Testimonials

“This Watercolor Play Workshop has the power to transform --- Karen Renee is a truly gracious and wonderful facilitator and her unique watercolor technique is for all artists – beginner to advanced. I had no artistic experience prior to the workshop and it gave me the confidence to venture out and do more – and I discovered skills I never would have known I had!  It has been so great for my team of Wellness Coaches as well, we loved learning this together and enjoyed the fellowship and fun, and we are sharing this technique with mental health consumers across the state as a very powerful wellness tool.” ~Dina Savvenas

“I am far from an artist, can't even draw a stick figure.  However, this workshop made me find my inner artist, my creative side and I love it!  The workshop itself is relaxing and enlightening, but I've been able to share this technique with others.  It has been taught to dozens of others and each person learns something different from the process, just as I learned my own lessons.  The process helps those of us recognize that just like this art technique, our life journey can be messy, but the end result can be beautiful.  If we don't love the result we get, we can continue to change and transform the work we do and make it even better.  I never expected to learn that from marker watercolor, but I did!” ~Deven Hazelwood

“I had the privilege of attending this wonderful Playshop in May 2022.  At first, I was apprehensive as that I’m not a guy that is very artistically inclined. The way that Karen Renée lead into the Playshop was so relaxing and inviting to everyone involved. I start to feel my apprehensiveness fade away and became more relaxed and ready to get to coloring.

As we completed the first project I felt totally relaxed and wanting to do the next project without waiting. As we were doing the different projects the better, I felt and was finding out things about myself that I didn’t know. Because I was able to just let my mind go and relax and not thinking about anything else but what I was doing in the present.

Working in the Mental Health Field this Playshop is something that can be useful for all of our members and staff. Being able to bring more color and art forms to our members will be something that I will greatly enjoy thanks to Karen Renée.

At the end of the Playshop and we were sharing our projects I thought back to 2018 to the last time that I had did anything like this and smiled thinking about that time. The last time that I did anything like was before my wife passed away in 2020 and it brought a smile to my face and tears to my eyes. But they were happy tears and a happy smile.

Thank you, Karen Renée, for doing this Playshop and letting me be a kid again playing with watercolors.” ~Barry N Floyd

“I decided to take this class for no other reason but to add some calmness to my life. I knew I would be working with paints and hoping to make something pretty, but this turned into a very mindful, calming, and spiritual time.

We all created something beautiful, and the process of watercolor allowed individuality and our choice of beauty. What was truly amazing was the finished product. What appeared were colors, pictures, and images that may have appeared spiritually, subconsciously, or just from our imaginations. All in all for myself it was a time of calm, play, and peace, and I am grateful for having the opportunity to learn and enjoy this art.”~Kathy Hankins

“I was so excited to experience some well needed play with art. I have experience with, and enjoy art, but put down my paint brushes for over a year after struggling in the structure of studio art classes. This playshop enabled me to let go, be free, and channel my inner creativity again. This was exactly what I needed and it felt so good to create something with such freedom and no expectation. I can’t wait to share this technique with my peers!” ~Kristen Dever
